Neurobagel

Drs. JB Poline, Urchs & Team

Neurobagel helps researchers find and build cohorts across distributed datasets by standardizing metadata and enabling secure, federated search while data owners maintain full local control.

The goal of Neurobagel is to enable researchers to define, find and obtain cohorts of individuals meeting specific criteria across distributed datasets. To achieve this, Neurobagel provides graphical tools to help annotate data with standardized metadata terms from widely used controlled vocabularies. Using Neurobagel, data owners can then choose to make these standardized metadata available to be searched by users within or outside their own organization, while retaining full local control of the underlying data and metadata. Users have the ability to run federated cohort queries across a large number of distributed datasets and in response will receive information on how to obtain the underlying data or apply for access permission.
